Pat Condell on Britain's Cultural Crisis
by cofty ina scandal is brewing in the uk.
for many years gangs of asian men engaged in rape and torture of young girls who were in the "so-called" care system.
it is believed there were around 1,400 victims in north west england, focussed on the town of rotherham.. if reports are to be believed, social workers, police and the cpc knew it was happening and everybody failed to act for one simple reason.

Yes, Cofty, I watch all Pat Condell's videos. I share his opinions on many things. If he put himself forward as Prime Minister I would vote for him.
He is the voice of reason in a mad world. The problem is that it is a mad world, and the madness works in favour of a lot of people who benefit from unearned advantage.

A day in the life of a Cop...my story. The truth.
by Witness 007 ini work for a mental health unit with 2 police officers we deal with people who have drug and mental health issues.
at times over the last 10 years we have "taken down" some large drug affected men, mainly "ice" these days which is epidemic here, and let me tell you even with three of us it is a huge struggle.
sometimes back up is needed or mace spray which is aweful stuff!

An interesting and enlightening opening post. Has anyone noticed that people who obey the law and treat policemen with respect don’t have a problem with the police; they look to them for help.
My encounters with them have always been positive and they have been eager to help and assist. I have had policemen as friends.
But then again, I don’t go around looting shops, setting fire to cars or burning down towns. If I did they would kick my white ass all the way to jail.

Officer Wilson not indicted in killing of Michael Brown
by Simon inafter a thorough investigation and weighing of the evidence the grand jury has decided not to indict the officer.. the reaction so far seems as predicted - people refuse to accept that the result represents justice despite claims that is what they wanted.. there is now violence and vandalism, including gunshots.
let's hope the police contain the troublemakers.. .

This whole case is about African blacks trying to intimidate law enforcement officers to prevent them from enforcing the law. Isn’t that what they pay taxes for? I am assuming they pay taxes.
The thieving thug was shot resisting arrest. What do his law-abiding ‘brothers’ do - burn the town down - time to call in the army.

As a Pioneer, a life-time ago, I always used a large notebook. I would sit in a convinient cafe writing meticulous notes about anyone that had showed the slightest interest, then planning what my approach would be when I returned to each victim.
This enabled me to spend time sitting drinking coffee for as long as I wanted and counting the time. I had other tricks but one per post is more than enough.

Terry, you quietly share your knowledge, intelligence, and insight. You give rather than take. Over many years you have avoided confrontation on this board. You educate rather than seeking attention by attacking other posters. For this reason you don’t get the attention you deserve.
May I say that your posts have been an inspiration to me; particularly your explanation of how our values are formed by the things we attach emotion to.
This forum would be diminished by your absence.

Feeling sad over a wasted life in watchtower
by wannaexit init's been 12 years since i first read ray franz's books and the scales came off my eyes.
by that time i was in my forties.. since 2002 i went back to school and have worked with 3 very professional organizations.
but my biological clock is ticking away and while my peers are looking forward to retirement, i am only beginning.

Hi Wanaexit, like many here, I understand your regret. Most people have regrets. Wounded war veterans, car crash victims, people from broken relationships, and many poor people who just didn’t get it right. If we hadn’t been Jehovah's Witnesses we may have made other mistakes. Each day is a gift to treasure and enjoy because however ‘well’ we do in life, time for each of us runs out anyway. The past no longer exists, there is only now. All the best.
The following is taken from: Can Jehovah's Witnesses survive - by Trevor Willis:
In my own case I was never disfellowshipped but slowly moved from the center of the organization to the edge as I became more and more disillusioned. It took many years to fully come to terms with the fact that what I had accepted as truth was in fact flawed. I tried to stay and do the minimum required of a member to still be called a brother. In the end I could no longer live a lie and at the age of thirty, finally left the Kingdom Hall for the last time.
Not one congregation member called to ask why I had left! They had realized from remarks I had made, that I had, in the words of the song, come to doubt all that I once held as true. Fortunately I was able to build a new life, with new friends and a happier outlook. Although I was never officially disfellowshipped my relatives, all of whom are Witnesses except one brother, continue to shun me.
For all those years I had been promised that I would never grow old and die but would live forever on earth, when it was turned into a paradise. I came to the realization that I was going to grow old and die like every other human. Coming to terms with the reality of so many wasted years, and learning to live outside the organization was a long hard climb. Accepting as worthwhile, people who I had previously condemned involved many emotional changes. Even so, I will never forget the friends and relatives whose affection I lost, along with the feeling of safety and certainty that belonging to the Watchtower Society's world brought me.

Changed: Head coverings for sisters, w15 2/15 QFR
by wifibandit indoes a female kingdom publisher need to wear a head covering if she conducts a bible study in the presence of a male publisher?.
in a questions from readers item published in the watchtower of july 15, 2002, it was stated that a sister should cover her head if she conducts a bible study in the presence of a male publisher, whether he is baptized or not.
further consideration of the matter suggests that a modification to this direction is appropriate.. if the male publisher who accompanies the sister while she conducts an established bible study is baptized, the sister would certainly want to wear a head covering.

This small extract is taken from: Obey Jehovah God! - by Trevor Willis.
Being baptised had opened up new privileges in the congregation, but caused certain difficulties. The sisters in the congregation did not share the same status as the brothers. They were not allowed to lecture from the platform or make any announcement directly to the audience. When a sister was allowed on the platform, she had to address another sister, while the audience listened in. A brother had to remain on the platform at all times. Sisters could not offer prayer on behalf of the congregation, or even say grace aloud over a meal in the presence of a baptised male. They could offer prayer in the presence of a brother who had not been baptised, but had to cover their heads before they did this. A sister could not be appointed as a congregation servant.
Certain situations were getting complicated. When in small group meetings, Terry was embarrassed to be asked to take over from older sisters. He had for some weeks accompanied a married pioneer sister called Mary, to a Bible study with an interested young lady; that is, a young lady interested in their beliefs. The time spent with her counted towards the required hundred hours a month. The study provided an enjoyable hour away from the elements, in the warm. Terry would open and close with prayer and Mary would conduct the study.
Ron found out about the arrangement and wasted no time in addressing the matter. ‘It’s not right having a sister conduct the study when a baptised male is present.’
‘I don’t see what the problem is. Mary always covers her head while conducting the study and gets me to open and close in prayer. She was taking the study long before I was invited along.’
Terry's father was adamant. ‘If she wants you to be there, then you will have to conduct the study.’
Terry protested. ‘I can’t just take over her study, it wouldn’t be fair. Anyway Mary is older than me and more experienced. As the study is with a young lady, it’s appropriate that she conducts it.’
His father stood up and raised his voice. ‘I am a congregation servant and I decide what is appropriate. If she won’t let you conduct the study then you will have to stop going. In Jehovah’s arrangement, everyone has their place and Mary needs to be reminded of her place in the congregation. You also have to remember that I am head of this family, so you will do as I tell you.’
It was futile for Terry to argue any more with his father. Ron’s mind was made up and once made up, could not be undone. Terry was not prepared to pull rank on Mary, perhaps leading to her simply withdrawing the invitation to accompany her. He simply told her that he would not be attending the study with her any more. He offered no explanation but Mary was insistent. He reluctantly conveyed his father’s reasoning. She was upset and tried to reason, saying that his father was wrong. But she had to accept that Terry had no choice in the matter.
The incident troubled him greatly and added to the resentment that he felt towards authority. Being forced to treat people in a way that he felt was wrong, for reasons that made no sense to him, seemed to be a misuse of authority. It could not go on! That day another brick was knocked from the wall around Terry’s mind that kept him captive.
